افتتح الاتحاد الأفريقي اليوم في أديس أبابا قمته السنوية العاشرة للبحث في الأزمات الكبرى التي تشهدها القارة وخصوصا كينيا وانتخاب رئيس جديد للمفوضية الأفريقية.

ويشارك في افتتاح القمة الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة باني كي مون الذي سيلقي كلمة يتوقع أن يدعو في سياقها إلى حل سلمي للأزمة الكينية التي تتركز الأضواء عليها حاليا.

ويتوقع أن يشارك في أعمال قمة الاتحاد الأفريقي نحو 40 رئيس دولة من أعضاء الاتحاد الذي يضم 53 دولة.

ويتوقع أن يشارك في أعمال قمة أديس أبابا رئيس البنك الدولي روبرت زوليك في حين وصلت مساعدة وزيرة الخارجية الأميركية غينداي فريزر أمس للمشاركة في أعمالها.

ويحضر القمة التي تستمر ثلاثة أيام الرئيس الكيني مواي كيباكي الذي تثير إعادة انتخابه احتجاج المعارضة في بلده في أزمة أدت إلى مقتل نحو ألف شخص ونزوح أكثر من 250 ألفا آخرين خلال شهر.

ويضم جدول الأعمال عددا من الأزمات الأخرى التي تهز القارة الأفريقية وخصوصا الصومال ودارفور.

وعلى جدول أعمال القمة أيضا انتخاب رئيس للمفوضية الأفريقية خلفا لرئيسها الحالي ألفا عمر كوناري. ويتنافس أربعة مرشحين بينهم وزير خارجية الغابون جان بينغ الذي يرجح أن يتم اختياره لهذا المنصب.

وكما يجري في كل قمة، ستطغى القضايا الراهنة على الموضوع الرئيسي المعلن للقمة الذي يحمل عنوان "التنمية الصناعية لأفريقيا".

ووجه كوناري خلال اجتماع تمهيدي للقمة انتقادات حادة لقادتها "لعدم قيامهم بما يلزم لخدمة قضايا أفريقيا في العالم".
